LOS ANGELES, September 15, 2025 — As the 2025 VALORANT Season comes to an end, 100 Thieves reflects on a season that fell short of both organizational standards and the unwavering expectations of our community and fans.
After missing Champions qualification for the third consecutive year, we recognize the need for meaningful change across all levels of our VALORANT operations.
Acknowledging Our 2025 Performance
Following our Stage 1 championship in 2024 and fourth-place finish at Masters Shanghai, expectations were rightfully high entering this year. While we saw moments of brilliance from the team that led us to double down on process, our inability to translate individual talent and organizational investment into consistent championship-level results represents a larger systemic issue at hand.
Our early elimination from the 2025 Kickoff, missing Masters Toronto, and ultimately falling short in Stage 2 playoffs after a very promising start continues to emphasize this and that requires comprehensive evaluation and restructuring.
"We entered 2025 with one of the most promising programs in Americas, yet we consistently failed to deliver when it mattered most despite incredible individual performances. We were very close to greatness this year, but being close was never the outcome our players, staff, and we set out to achieve in 2025." said Joseph Jang, VP of Esports at 100 Thieves.
Organizational Accountability
100 Thieves VALORANT warrants excellence from our organization, the same excellence that we practice across all of our esport disciplines. Our fans and community have been very vocal and patient about their frustrations and we thank you for your continued support as we understand that this comes from a shared understanding of striving for championship ambitions.
This offseason, we're conducting comprehensive evaluations of our entire approach from roster building philosophies, strategic oversight, organizational support, and day to day execution to ensure we're providing our 2026 players and staff with the foundation necessary for championship success.
Looking Forward
"It was clear that we were not a sum of our individual parts this year," said Joseph Jang. "This means despite having an incredible pool of talent, we will need to make difficult decisions and meaningful changes to reset our mindset and evaluate all options available going into 2026."
While specific roster and staffing decisions will be announced in the coming weeks, our commitment to competing at the highest level remains unwavering.
